LIFEBUOY
* DIA –400mm to 800mm
* WEIGHT not less than 2.5 kgs [For quick release buoys – sufficient weight to activate the system]
* Support 14.5 Kgs iron in fresh water for 24Hrs
* Sustain being engulfed in fire for 2 seconds
* Sustain drop into water from at least 30m or from greater height if stowed higher
* Grabline Dia at least 9.5mm
* Grabline length at least 4 times the OD of the buoy.
SELF IGNITING LIGHTS
* Luminous Intensity not less than 2 cd
* Fixed or Flashing

MARKING ON THE LIFERAFT
* maker’s name or trade mark;
* serial number;
* date of manufacture (month and year);
* name of approving authority;
* name and place of servicing station where it was last serviced; and
* number of persons it is permitted to accommodate over each entrance in characters not less than 100 mm in height of a colour contrasting with that of the liferaft.
* Provision shall be made for marking each liferaft with the name and port of registry of the ship to which it is to be fitted, in such a form that the ship identification can be changed at any time without opening the container.
